ComfyDeploy compute and growth docket#
Status: Decision log Scope: Managed offering and fully open-sourced platform; historical enterprise pricing is not a universal current minimum.
2026-10-04 — Modal infrastructure and a changed commercial motion#
Compute and procurement#
Explicit disclosure, 2025-08-27: ComfyDeploy states its managed platform is built on Modal, adding node/dependency management, optimizations and specialist support. That is positive rented/serverless-provider evidence, not GPU ownership. Infrastructure explanation.
The official plugin README also supports on-premises/long-running machines, Runpod and Modal; hosted ComfyDeploy machines are described as Modal-powered. Those alternative customer targets prevent generalizing the managed disclosure to every self-hosted execution. Official plugin README, full platform source.
Acquisition, monetization and reported outcomes#
Founder announcement, 2025-09-16: the entire backend/frontend was reopened as source, existing customers would remain supported, and new users could use PAYG or self-host. The founder describes slow enterprise adoption, competition from the official ecosystem and closed models, despite growing inquiries. Therefore the older $1,000/month sales-call minimum is historical evidence, not a verified current entry requirement. The linked app pricing returned a JavaScript shell with no readable tariff; no checkout was tested. Transition announcement, pricing entry.
The same dated founder account reports approximately $2,500 MRR at YC entry and $29,000 MRR at publication, with $50,000 processed over the preceding 30 days. These are self-reported historical measures; processed revenue is not necessarily recurring net revenue, and none is a 2026 run rate.
Open-source contributors, developer distribution, team workflow links and simplified playgrounds support discovery and organizational adoption. Inference: a specialized operations layer can sell value above rented compute; its commercial transition also warns that usefulness alone need not produce rapid enterprise adoption. Current product.
Limits and implication#
No current fleet split, supplier discount, paid retention or audited 2026 financials was established. The homepage's continuing product claims do not independently verify service staffing, present tariffs or allocation. For ComfyICU, compare environment consistency and team delivery without assuming platform fees or exclusively owned GPUs. No deployment was tested.
